Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 4, 2026
1. Introduction
Metrix LLC ("Metrix," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you visit our website, create an account, purchase a license, or use our software products.
By using our services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). This information is required to provide you with access to our services.
Purchase Information
When you purchase a license, payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number or banking details. We receive and store your order history, transaction IDs, and license keys.
License Activation Data
When you activate a license, we collect a device identifier and device name to manage activations. This data is used solely to enforce license activation limits.
Usage Data
We may collect basic website usage data such as pages visited, browser type, and IP address through standard server logs. Some products may transmit operational data to our servers to provide cloud-based features and synchronization.
3. How We Use Your Information
- •To create and manage your account
- •To process purchases and deliver license keys
- •To validate and manage license activations
- •To provide customer support
- •To send important product updates and security notices
- •To improve our website and services
4. Data Storage & Security
Your account data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and are never stored in plain text. All data transmission between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL.
Metrix Inventory is local-first: your inventory lives on your device and the app is fully usable without an account. If you sign in and use cloud sync — included on all paid plans — that inventory data (items, folders, locations, sales, and any images you add) is also stored on our servers so it can be shared between your devices and your team. Free-tier accounts sync a limited amount of data; paid plans include 15–50 GB of cloud storage depending on tier. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- •Stripe for payment processing. See Stripe's privacy policy for details on how they handle payment data.
- •Railway for hosting infrastructure and PostgreSQL database.
- •Google Firebase for authentication (sign in with email, Google, or Apple).
- •Supabase for real-time sync of inventory, orders, and team data on mobile.
- •Cloudflare (R2 and Workers) for item image and file storage, and for API services.
- •Square for in-person card payments, if you connect a Square account and take payments through Metrix. Card details are captured and processed by Square and are never stored by us — we receive only the transaction record (amount, status, and the last four digits). This applies to payments you take from your own customers; see Square's privacy notice for how they handle cardholder data.
6. Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, your inventory data, images and profile are removed from our live systems straight away.
Deleted data does persist in our backups for a while afterwards, because backups exist precisely so that data can be recovered. Backup copies expire automatically on a fixed schedule — daily copies after 30 days, weekly after 90 days, and monthly after 12 months — so deleted data is fully gone within 12 months at the outside, and within 30 days in the common case. Deleted images are held for 90 days. We do not restore a backup to bring back an account you asked us to delete.
Two exceptions outlive that: records we are legally required to keep — invoices, tax and payment records — are retained for as long as the law requires, typically seven years; and anonymised statistics that cannot identify you may be kept indefinitely.
7. Where Your Data Is Stored
Metrix is operated from the United States, and the services listed above store and process data on servers in the United States. If you use Metrix from outside the US — including from the UK or the European Economic Area — your data is transferred to and processed in the US. Where those transfers involve personal data protected by UK or EU law, they rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard offered by the provider concerned.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- •Access the personal data we hold about you
- •Request correction of inaccurate data
- •Request deletion of your account and associated data
- •Export your account data
- •Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we process your data
- •Withdraw consent at any time, where processing relies on it
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@metrix.to. We respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or the EEA and you believe we have not handled your data properly, you also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
